Well that about does it.

Today, I caved and ate a brownie. I felt tired almost immediately and have since developed a headache. Yup, I’d say that’s a sure sign I’m a celiac. Or is it “have celiac”?

Alls I know is it’s annoying.

Ferris Bueller's...

Today I had a day off. Yep, a Sunday, off. I have two jobs (don't know if I've mentioned that?) but this weekend I  managed to get the whole thing off. Saturday  I pretty much just slept but today... today I was pro-activ as hell. I did the dishes, made that gluten free slice, cleaned my room, swept the house and got my drink on. (god, that last exclamation was lame. To much time makes my brain mushy.)

Here is (some of) my day in pictures..

I got lost in a haze of links (started out here as per the norm) and this made me giggle.

This series of photos is non-linear... this is thear the end of it all. My window sill is a clutter of vessels. in order: pear cider, bottle of champagne (for real, legit, champagne from Champagne, France), wine glass of champagne (couldn't be bothered leaving the haven of my bed to get a flute), pint glass of water (I'm a bar tender - all my glasses are swiped from bars), strawberry and lime cider, triple sec (to make the champagne a little less blegh) and a bottle of Malbec (sadly, from South Australia. The good stuff is the Argentinian)

Ok, I know it's sideways but I'm too drunk to care/fix it. Gluten free water cracker, beetroot dip, avocado dip and camembert. Delishy fish.

I bought a great many things on line and had to refer to this, my wonderful purse, a great many times. I bought flights to New York, travel insurance, my entry to America, a laptop.. yeh I'm a spender.

These are my favorites in order... Pear Cider, Strawberry & Lime Cider, A glass of Malbec and a pint of water. Yumma.

Days of my life.

Word.

If you've ever been to Paris...

You'll agree with me, this is the most accurate song in a movie, ever, in the world!

Ooh la la, Ooh la la, Ooh la la...

No Sweets, No Meat and now, No Wheat.

As of today I am on a gluten/wheat free diet to establish whether or not an intolerence is the cause of the many, hypochondria-esque symptoms I experience in my daily existence. It is, equally, harder and easier than I thought. Perhaps I should explain...

See, it's easier because a lot of things such as: pasta, bread, biscuits, crackers and cakes are already available in a gluten free format. But it's things like: meusli bars, egg noodles, wine and beer that are a little more difficult to find.

Tonight I had to make my stir-fry with rice noodles, which isn't a hugely terribly thing - I just really love hokkien. And tomorrow I'll be attempting to make my own meusli bars, using almond meal as an alternative to wheat germ.

The one thing I'll really be missing....

Doughnuts.

Lock 'Er Up.

I broke a lot of laws tonight. I feel pretty bad about it, even though it was for a good cause. I could have got myself into serious trouble and incurred some serous fines. So I'm confessing my sins in the hopes of absolving my soul with the karma gods.

I rode my bike, sans helmet (smooshy skull, $57), on the footpath (brokey bones, $57) all the way to Victoria Park. 15km. needless to say I was pretty darn sore by the time I got there so I decided to get the train home sans smartrider or ticket ($100) and then rode home from the stop without a light at nighttime.

The good cause I mentioned was: to deliver a box of fundraiser chocolates to a friend of mine. He'll be selling them at his office to help me raise funds for my volunteer trip to Peru.

And I mean, I was riding this bad boy...

What kind of person would book a cute little blonde girl on a yellow bike and wearing a red cape.

Did I mention I bought a cape?

The Crow.

I've been watching Game Of Thrones again this weekend. Almost definitely because of this I saw a crow today and it startled me. It had the most intense white eyes - the (cliche alert) soul piercing kind.

Kind of like this...

Car Mangled Spanner.

This is how I want my trip to America to pan out.

Day 1 - Arrive New York, New York.

Day 4ish - Head down to Bawlmor.

Day 18ish - Road trip across the top.

(Maine)

(Vermont)

(Michigan)

(And again..)

(Wisconsin)

(Minnesota)

(North Dakota)

(Montana)

(Washington)

Day 32ish - Hollywood with my Berlin darling.

Day 34ish - Grand Canyon and surrounds.

Day 40ish - Explore the urbane.

(Salton Sea, California)

(Gary, Indiana)

Day 50ish - Back to the Big City to prepare for the trip to Peru.

Fly, fly away.

Tundra

Don't you think the predators of the Arctic are just the most majestic creatures?

I'm  teency bit obsessed with David Attenborough, I live for documentaries. My only complaint is that the "killing time" scenes make me sad, all those poor, dead and eaten animals. I'm currently watching Sir David's Planet Earth series and today's disc is Great Plains, Jungles and Shallow Seas. The great plain of right now - The Arctic Tundra. All those polar bears, arctic foxes and wolves are just so magnificent I am finding it exceedingly difficult to be mad at them for killing the baby geese, caribou and seals. I mean come on...

How could you be sad at this little guy?
