Get Out Of My Head.

I've had these songs in my head for weeks...

Why must I like such catchy music?

Some More Things I Like.

Being poor and living on eggs.

Autumn leaves in Winter.

Clouds.

Leafy trees.

Control Yourself

I can't. I actually, for real, cannot stop myself. I pity my poor housemate. If she buys a packet of biscuits and leaves me alone in the house for more than half an hour it's a pretty safe bet that she no longer owns a packet of biscuits. I have a bit of a complex about it too. See, icecream is best eaten starigh from the tub (less dishes, larger surface area for yummy melty bits) so I sit me down with a tub and a spoon and I start out slow, telling myself I'll only have a little every night, everything in moderation right? So I get to the point that I figure I should stop when a thought goes streaking through my brain - I SHOULD HAVE ONE MORE MOUTHFUL! I have to have a "last" mouthful. So I do. But it isn't enough, so I have one more "last" mouthful. And then I figure if I just have one more really quickly it doesn't count... before I know it I've worked myself into a frenzy, shovelling icecream into my face faster than I can swallow it. Suddenly... the tub is empty, I feel sick and worst of all, I'm ashamed and guilty. It's the same for biscuits (mine or not, I don't care), shopping, drinking, fruit, veg, toast, TV... I don't know what a moderation is?

Stuff I Like

The Beach. I live nice and close. Sometimes on a particularly quiet night I can hear the waves crashing as I walk home from work.

Love. The real and lasting kind. The kind that spans a planet. (Perth to Baltimore - Exactly halfway around the world)

The River.

Sunsets and Powerlines.

Gumtree Bark. Such wonderful colours.

Construction sites, Shipping containers and Graffiti. This is across from my bus stop.

The beach. I really love the beach.

X Sells.

It is a well known fact that you have to spend money to make money. Case in point: Advertising. I love me a good catchy ad.

"And he bit my guts out.."

Kitchen Parties.

An Aussie Classic.

I hope you're insured, furnished and rosy-cheeked.

My, My, My.

Today was my M-friend's 22nd birthday. Happy birthday M-friend. We both got off work early and went for a walk along the river down by Mosman Bay. We encountered a majestic blue/gray Ibis, glooby purple jellyfish and a loud but invisible frog.

I took some happy's.... enjoy.

Home Is Where Your Rump Thumps.

Since my re-entry to the grand southern land I've been dealing with an existential crisis of sorts. OK, OK, crises. Basically, this country makes me feel pointless and stupid and desperately bored. Which is bad for my general health and well-being. And my savings, which I need to get my size 8 butt out'a'here. Australia is detrimental to my livelihood. So I've taken to spending my time googling my potential places of residence. So far Germany is the frontrunner and here, my darlings, is why...

This is Waldspirale (literally : Forrest Spiral) in Darmstadt.

It's an apartment building with a Tree tenant for every People tenant. Too cool.

And this is a quaint little town called Fussen...

It's home to the famous Neuschwanstein Castle.

And beautiful architecture in front of beautiful mountians.

And one of the most beautiful hotels I've ever seen.

Yep, I could grow old there, for sure.

And the proverbial crown jewel : Berlin.

These are some of my fave shots from my trip last year...

Def'nough'said.

Bored Now.

I love WordsWithFriends. But every so often I get supremely sick of it. It generally happens when my win streak looks a little like this...

(it carries on in much this fashion)

But what else can I play on the bus?

My Favourite Thing Ever.

UNICORNS!!!

The Best.

Phone-tastic

Remember, less than a decade ago, when mobile phone's had green backlit screens the size of a postage stamp? You were considered a tech-wiz if your model had features as simple as Snake. Images contained a total of two pixels. Boy, have we come a long way. My absolute favorite addition to the humble mobilus telephonus has to be the digital camera. Just think how many opportunities, also known as "Kodak Moments", were missed before this nifty add-on. Well, not anymore! Now we can catch it all on film. OK, not film, but whatever it's still totally awesome.

Some moments I've kodak'ed recently...

This morning, Sunrise to end all sunrises.

The dread Kitty. He mews at my door every Sunday.

The Allosaurus.

Rosy.

Leafy.

Sunsetty.

I live in the golden triangle (I can't afford to but I make it work somehow) and I swear, every mansion, on every street has these gorgeous flowers climbing the walls.

Now, before you go ahead and think I'm a photographic prodigy I must give a shout out to my partners in the excercise. First and foremost : iPhone - if you don't have an iPhone, well, you dont have an iPhone! Secondly : Hipstamatic - for the Automatic Hipster. Wow am I rad.

A friend of mine showed me this...

Neat huh?

Passing The Time

Every now and then one stumbles across something so wonderful they feel the want, nay, the need to share it with the world. Well for me, right now, that something comes in the form of this website : www.darkroastedblend.com it says it all in the tagline "Weird and Wonderful Things". I feel like I should mention that I spent four consecutive hours reading post after post last night, it's that good. I feel like I should also mention that I will judge you if you can't find something of interest on this site.

Some especial favourites of mine are here and here but I really, really love this entire section.

It's all good.

Abandoned

Is it just me or is there something especially exciting about abandoned buildings, vehicles, people? Who am I kidding, we all know it. And frankly, it's only natural. We - mankind - erect, assemble and educate these ... things! in an epically unnatural manner, and the second we - mankind - turn our backs on these... things! Nature creeps back in and reclaims what is naturally... it's! And boy, does it make for some brilliant photography! Now, I wish I could say that these Images were mine, but they aren't, so don't sue me.

From generating electricity to generating awe and inspiration. Un-used but not un-loved.

But it's the slides that really display just how necessary constant upkeep is...

A constructive hour indeed.

The Bandwagon.

In an effort to coax myself to stay home nights and save my hard earned cash-monies for endless rainy days in far off places I recently got me the internet. I'm bored of it already. I seem to lack that inane ability to troll facebook/youtube/google for hours so many of my friends possess in abundance. So I'ma try out this blog thing.

Today I spent a little while looking at castles I'd like very much to visit whilst in Europe with my M friend. Here, let me show you:

This one is definitely my favorite...

It's called Schwerin Castle and it's somewhere or other in Germany (Germany has all the best castles, Neuschwanstein anyone?)

But I'm also raving on this one a bit...

It's big, beautiful and ABANDONED! Which basically means it's mine, right? Well anyhow it's in Russia so maybe it'll just be my summer house.

CASTLEMANIA!

Yep, this could be a fun way to spend my evenin's.
